Binance Hack: When Can I Withdraw? Editorial illustration of the Binance logo behind fractured glass

Source check: October 30, 2026, 11:51 UTC. This is a snapshot, not a live status feed.

What happened in the Binance hack?

About $6.3 billion affected; about $3 billion frozen. Those are Binance's preliminary figures in its October 30 announcement. The exchange says it will cover the losses. Frozen assets are not the same as money already returned to users.

Here is Binance's original investigation statement:

Binance initially pointed to a compromised employee laptop. Its later investigation update describes several points of entry and says it has found no evidence of wallet private-key leaks. The full technical report is still pending.

When will Binance withdrawals reopen?

There is no confirmed reopening time in the reviewed updates. Binance News first reported an estimate of within 48 hours. A later update said roughly 45 hours, with exact timing to follow in an official announcement.

That estimate runs from Binance's update—not from when you open this page. A reopening notice and the withdrawal screen for your asset and network are the checks that matter.

Question Latest reviewed position
Can I withdraw? Withdrawals remain paused. No confirmed restart time.
Can I deposit? Later Binance News updates report normal deposits.
Who covers the incident losses? Binance says SAFU and company funds will cover them. Individual claim details are not established.

For context, this is Binance's earlier suspension notice, before the later deposit update:

What if my withdrawal is pending?

A pending request does not tell you whether funds have reached the blockchain. Start with the record in your account:

  1. Save the request details: time, asset, amount, network, destination, request ID, and status.
  2. Check for a transaction hash. If one is shown, check it on that network's explorer. An exchange request ID is not a transaction hash.
  3. If the state is unclear, contact support through the official app or site. Ask whether the request was broadcast and whether any action is required. Do not assume that repeating or cancelling it will release the funds.

Ignore replies or DMs offering a paid withdrawal “unlock.” Never provide a recovery phrase or API secret to someone claiming to help.

Are deposits and trading working?

The initial notice paused both deposits and withdrawals; later Binance News reporting described deposits as normal. Being able to send money in does not mean you can take it out. Check the specific asset, network, and Binance entity you use before transferring.

The reviewed updates do not confirm every spot, futures, margin, or API service for every account. If you have open leveraged positions, check collateral, orders, and liquidation levels directly. A withdrawal pause is not evidence that liquidation or funding charges have stopped.

Will Binance reimburse users? Is there a claim form?

Binance says it will use SAFU and company funds to cover losses. Its written announcement does not set out an individual claim form or payment schedule.

It also does not explain whether missed trades, price movements, or liquidation losses qualify. Keep records for your case and wait for explicit terms; do not treat the promise as confirmation that every kind of loss is covered.

What should traders watch next?

Three updates would materially change the picture: a withdrawal reopening notice, the technical post-mortem, and details of recovery or reimbursement. A revised estimate alone does not confirm that access is restored.

Keep copies of balances, pending transfers, and trade history while you wait. A blocked withdrawal should not be recorded as a losing trade: it is an access issue until the outcome is known. If you are reviewing your setup, our Binance API connection guide covers journal permissions, and Binance alternatives covers the migration decision.
